A Trail that Brings Us Together - Support the Pindus Trail
With considerable effort and commitment, we are bringing an important phase of trail restoration and waymarking to completion along the first officially authorised 90 km section of the Pindus Trail, stretching from Delphi to Artotina, west of the Vardousia Mountains. Throughout this process, we have gained valuable experience and demonstrated that our team can deliver a demanding project in challenging mountain terrain, while meeting the required technical standards and following the necessary procedures.
The Pindus Trail is a large-scale, multi-regional project that is gradually taking shape through the work of our team, the involvement of volunteers and the support of people who believe in our vision. To date, the initiative has progressed through our own efforts and the contributions of our supporters, while the necessary permitting procedures and technical planning for individual trail sections continue.
Over the years, the experience gained through our fieldwork, the contribution of volunteers and the support of those who believe in the project have helped us plan our next steps. The Pindus Trail follows a clear direction and defined technical standards, while we gradually develop a framework for its long-term sustainability, involving as many people and organisations as possible.
Our current goal is to advance the technical planning and preparation of the next trail section, within the jurisdiction of the Nafpaktos Forestry Directorate. This section will connect Artotina with the Evinos Valley, Grammeni Oxia and the Oxia mountain refuge. Our aim is to secure approval for implementation by spring 2027, so that trail restoration work can begin.
To help make this next step possible, we have launched a fundraising campaign for Terra Pindus entitled “A Trail That Brings Us Together,” with the support of the incredible team of coordinators at Wheeling2help, who have witnessed the intensity of this effort firsthand over the past few years and have embraced the trail as their own.
Whether you have been following our work from the beginning, have taken part in our activities, or are discovering the Pindus Trail for the first time, you can help us take this next step.
