Christos Martzos
Was born on 19/9/1970, lived, grew up and studied in the city of Thessaloniki.
After he completed his studies in Hotel Management in 1992 and specialising in the management of human resources, he decided to move to Great Britain. There he lived in various locations and worked on a variety of hands-on as well as administrative positions in prominent hotels such as Rembrandt in Knightsbridge, Woodlands Park Hotel in Cobham, as a general manager of the private island of Raven`s Ait island in Kingston where he lived for four years on a riverboat.
He returned to Greece in 2004, together with his English wife Clare, to pursue a professional career in Pelion. There they discovered the forgotten hotel "The Lost Unicorn" in the main village square of Tsagarada which they bought. They gave their own character to the lifeless building, creating a wonderful, unique and renown small hotel and restaurant where they live and work to date.
From a young age, Christos has had a passion with outdoor activities and sports in general. Having lived in the mountain for the past 15 years and as a keen hiker, he has been actively involved with cleaning, marking, mapping and promoting the local trails and kalderimis as well as trying to preserve the true character and nature of the mountains through other environmental actions.
After years of participaring and volunteering time and effort into promoting the wider area of eastern Pelion as well as similar voluntary actions in Pindus mountains, he took a more active interest in trying to preserve the mountain countryside and traditions.
He is now active in offering his services to that purpose in any useful capacity, whilst following parallel action through its participation in TERRA Pindus.
